I have been living in Thailand for the past six years. When I come home to Dover, DE I always look for an authentic place to eat Thai food. Soooooo glad I discovered this place. I have actually been to the province that the owner and her mother are from. It was very nice to carry on a conversation with them in Thai language. This place is definitely authentic. Let’s get to the food, these ladies definitely did not forget how to cook their native Thai dishes. Everything was seasoned perfectly! When I asked the owner to turn up the heat, like I like, although I would have liked it to be spicier, it was to my satisfaction. I will be back! Kob Khun Krab!

Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you - this is, by far, the best Thai restaurant in Delaware. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. I loved how the veggies still a nice crunch, and not overcooked. The curry had some heat, but it wasn't overwhelming. The pad see ew noodles had a nice chewy and bouncy consistency. The family enjoyed it, and we are adding this place to our regular take out rotation!

We had a great time. The coconut soup Tom Kha was amazing. The Satay Gai, the peanut sauce I could've drank it, was perfect. I have been searching for a great sauce, and wow! Gang Ped was super flavoral and spicy. I needed more rice with my entree. Also, we had #223 & we wanted to eat the plate it was so delicious. Again we needed more rice but this is an undiscovered gem for the neighborhood. It has a classic old phone like in the 80s.

Bangkok House is by far the best Thai food I've ever had. The manager Silinda Ann gave me a recommendation of their 227 Pad See Euw dish, and it's been my favorite comfort meal ever since! Silinda Ann and her mom continue to outdo themselves every time I stop in! :)

Bangkok House in Newark is one of those places that reminds you why small, family-run restaurants are irreplaceable. From the outside, it’s humble and easy to miss. But once you’re inside, you realize this mother-and-daughter team is serving some of the most authentic Thai food you’ll find anywhere in Delaware. We ordered a little bit of everything—starting with the satay and soup, both of which were warm, flavorful, and clearly homemade. The satay came perfectly grilled with a peanut sauce that could have been a meal on its own. The soup was the kind of comfort you don’t expect to find unless someone’s cooking for you at home. The Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao were both outstanding, each with its own distinct balance of sweetness, spice, and texture. You could tell nothing came out of a jar—the flavors were bright, clean, and layered. The red curry, rich and aromatic, had that perfect slow-building heat that keeps you reaching for more jasmine rice. And speaking of rice—it was cooked just right, fragrant and fluffy, the quiet star that pulled everything together. What makes Bangkok House truly special isn’t just the food, though. It’s the feeling you get while you’re there. The care that goes into each dish, the relaxed, no-frills setting, and the pride this family takes in their craft all come through in every bite. My daughter, who goes to college nearby, swears it’s the most authentic Thai food in Delaware—and after this meal, I believe her. If you’re anywhere near Newark, skip the big-name places and come here instead. It’s a small spot with a big heart, and it’s the kind of meal you’ll still be thinking about long after you’ve left.
